Upon entering the area one is greeted by an old ironwork fence, adorned with ivy so as to conceal its architecture. On the fence rests a sign indicating only friends and family are welcome in the garden and the underlying dungeons.
A large malachite rock sits on the edge of a vast lake. The green tint of the rock catches the moonlight as one walks past it, as does the Greek scrollwork inscription "Daphne". Beyond the rock a well manicured garden rests surrounded by topiaries. In the center of the garden a rose garden awaits the visitors. The bittersweet aroma enters the air and alleviates the stress building up within them.
A down-sloping pathway into the side of the rock leads to a narrow stone staircase. The door at the end of this staircase leads to a door of malachite, seemingly in the rock. If one enters, the view is opened up to the main living room, consisting of stone and wooden furniture and complete with an ever-burning fire. The windows of the room offer a view into the floor bed of the lake.
What lies beneath that, only Daphne really knows. |
