| The University itself is scattered across the city now, yet the heart of it remains at the 31st corner of Pessimism & Pyrite where the vaulted tradition of the university began. A small institution sprung out of the motley crew of Masters meeting at the Book & Beggar, dedicated to the edification and continuation of all knowledge. Formerly the residence of a merchant of some renown, it was endowed as their first meeting place, and still remains in use. The stone arch above the doorway bears the motto of the University, "Aut disce aut discede".
