The silhouette of the old castle-like mansion looms massively against the dark sky. A wolf bays, seemingly from inside the castle. The huge iron gates are firmly shut, but the hinges are greased,indicating that they are in general use at other times.

There is a sign fitted to one of the towering stone pillars, reading:

Welcome to the Castle of Shadows. Please do not loiter unnecessarily. This is private property. We have opened part of our grounds to the public, but to get there you have to cross the street, heading south for our Moonlight Gardens. The gates here will only open for invited guests. Have a safe night.

The wolf is baying again.
