A pair of crossed scythes mark the entrance of what appears to be nothing more than a wooded glade. Majestic redwoods line the property on all sides, the ancient trees reaching 300 ft into the sky. The trunks are nested comfortably into the surrounding vegetation of various types of moss and fungi. If an observant listener were to hold still and concentrate a moment, they might notice muffled explosions, seeming to emanate from beneath the ground itself. The noise is soon followed by a faint pungent odor and the sound of distant laughter.
A clear wide path winds through the wood, the only decoration being that of the scattering of ear-leaf acacia and tall silver-bladed grass. Just out of sight of the gate a large clearing opens up to reveal a small shimmering lake, its shoreline peppered with fiddle-head ferns and dark crimson tulips. Beyond the water one can sense a slight movement amongst the flora along with a low hum that vibrates through the air. The hum comes from The 9 Auspicious Ents, companions of Occamrazor that can often be seen rooted in the area.
As you gaze across the water a large devil's ear tree rises upwards, it's full crown spanning nearly the entire width of the property. The light gray bark gives off a bloody red hue, its lower branches gracefully bending downwards under the weight of pale green leaves that surround fragrant small tufted orbs and fleshy pink pods that are shaped to form a perfect ear.
Above the lower branches, a large structure reveals itself. Walls of wood and vine stretch between the many branches to form the vampiress' home and clan outpost.
