A long stone hallway leads into the darkness. Beyond it lies a windowless burial chamber with smaller rooms for rituals and storage located down below. In the chamber, a mural covers the walls, effectively transporting visitors back to ancient Egypt. Hieroglyphics decorate the walls and are accompanied by images of deities, demons, and the blessed dead of the afterlife. The text carved on the wall is divided into the twelve hours of the night, symbolizing the journey of the sun from dusk until dawn, and visitors are able to experience the perils and triumphs that the sun encounters along the way. The sun's journey from dusk until dawn symbolizes the journey toward eternal life, and it ends at sunrise with the deceased resurrection.
Located at the farthest right corner of the chamber is a sarcophagus. There are strange markings and drawings carved into it. Strangely enough, the lid of the sarcophagus bears a name along with English text carved above it. Which reads:
"Destiny is not immutable. Our fate has always been ours.
The only paradox is that we do not make the effort to alter our lives when we can.
You can change your fate if you want to.
You can change everything.
Time's nothing more than a box of minutes."

On the opposite side, in the farthest left corner of the chamber stands a statue of a warrior made out of hematite and black onyx. The strange text carved beneath the dark sentinel's feet reads:
"By Her grace and by Her honour...
Those who are downtrodden and battle-weary can find solace in here." |
